LaRae, Chevalier, accepte son honneur

LaRae, surrounded by some of her current and former Rosemount HS French students after the ceremony at the Edina Centennial Lakes Centrum, Wednesday, May 31, 2006.

The Palmes Académiques award was established by Napoléon in order to honor excellence in the academic world. It is the oldest and most highly respected award presented to scholars by the French government. LaRae's award resulted from her many years of promotion of French language and culture through her teaching in Rosemount High School and her loyal service as the Mn-AATF Chapter's Corresponding Secretary/Treasurer.

LaRae was also honored with the MCTLC (Minnesota Council on th Teaching of Languages and Cultures) 'Star Award' at its October, 2005 annual conference.
